Windy Weekend Ahead, Cold Front Arrives Sunday Plenty of change ahead over the next 48 hours in the Brazos Valley. Overnight, scattered showers to a very isolated rumble of thunder are expected to drift through the area from the northwest to southeast (30%). While some wake up to damp sidewalks, little to no rainfall accumulation is expected to be left behind. That rain chance is scooped east of the Brazos Valley by mid-morning, better chance for thunderstorms is expected just across the state line in Louisiana. Saturday afternoon brings you a mix of sun & clouds, highs in the low / mid 80s, and breezy / gusty south to southwest winds. We wake Sunday morning cooler & 1 hour sleep deprived. Our cold front arrives pre-sunrise, clearing our rain & thunderstorm chance. Highs are expected to reach the mid-60s around noon, before falling to the upper 50s & low 60s by late afternoon. Expect winds to remain strong -- gusts upwards of 30mph are possible at times. Spring break week starts cool -- we struggle to reach 60° Monday afternoon. Friday Night: Cloudy with a 30% chance for passing showers to an isolated thunderstorm. Low: 63. Wind: S 5-15 mph. Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain to an isolated thunderstorm, mainly before 10am. High: 83. Wind: SSW 10-15 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain & thunderstorms. Low: 63. Wind: W 5-15 mph. Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain & thunderstorms before 8am. High: 66. Wind: NNE 15-20 mph, gusts upwards of 30 mph. -- Chief Meteorologist Shel Winkley
